Eschewing the tired imagery of Shamrocks and Leprechauns, The Ireland Shop offers a fresh, contemporary perspective on Irish craftsmanship and design.
I was comissioned to photograph a wide range of different products and looks for the launch of their online store. This included editorial lifestyle scenes, tabletop product shots and a studio look book featuring numerous throws and knitwear.
I accentuated the idea of freshness by bathing all the editorial shots in a bright, white back light. Crisp mornings in the countryside, the warmth of indoors... a moment of respite from the pressures of the urban world. Retouching was limited to "invisible" edits that would appear natural. Colour accuracy was also important, especially for the look book and individual products. In the end only a light grade was necessary.
